CRI Serves Emergency Needs in Pleasants County

ST. MARY’S- Everyday families go without electricity, food, water, and shelter. Community Resources, Inc.(CRI) is here in Pleasants County to help county residents with emergency situations such as the ones listed above. BETHThe goal is to work closely with individuals/families of low-income in the area to aid in financial stability and self-sustainability. CRI cares for those in the community and is eager to serve those that are in need. With the number of programs and services that are provided you are bound to receive assistance for your needs. From financial assistance to obtaining a birth certificate there is little this organization cannot provide.

CRI has been serving the community since 1986 and is the sole community action agency for eleven counties: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt, and Wood. Because CRI is a non-profit organization, it relies on community supports, financial contributions, volunteers, and partnerships. CRI promises to affirm the right of all people to adequate resources to achieve self-sufficiency and believes that people experiencing turmoil should have availability to services capable of providing appropriate guidance and help, and ultimately improving the quality of life. CRI upholds this promise by providing services under their Accountable Case Management Plan (ACM) including employment, budgeting, education, nutrition, housing, health, substance abuse recovery, and transportation. However, the assistance does not stop there. Other programs that CRI offers are Weatherization, FaithLink, Child Care Food Program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Financial Counseling, and Emergency Assistance.
